There are many historical celebrations as well as musical and theatrical festivals that take place in the region, among the best of which are the Medieval Festivals of Offagna [le Feste medievali a Offagna] and the Disfida del bracciale a Treia, an exhibition match of the Italian ball game “bracciale.” Also of interest are the International Contemporary Theater Festival of Polverigi [il Festival International Inteatro di Polverigi]; The Pergolesi Spontini Festival, a musical journey held in theaters, churches, and historical and artistic venues of Le Marche, the country of traveling musicians; and Senigallia's Summer Jamboree, "The Hottest Rockin' Holiday on Earth!"; the Macerata Opera [il Macerata Opera di Macerata], dedicated to lyric and dramatic opera; and the Premio Città di Recanati, a concert featuring new popular singer/songwriter music.
