High quality wines and olive oils are produced in abundance all over Le Marche. In addition to the delicate and fruity extra virgin olive oil, the entire region offers a wide variety of white and red wines. For white wine lovers, apart from the famous Verdicchio dei Castelli from Jesi, there are also the excellent Verdicchio from Matelica and the delightful Bianchello from Metauro to taste and enjoy. Those who prefer red wine can choose from lively wines such as Lacrima di Morro d’Alba and heartier wines such as the reds from Conero and Piceno. And to finish, a drop of anice secco speciale [anisette], distilled in Pievebovigliana since 1868, is a must after dinner, by itself or with coffee.
